HFC 236fa is an HFC retrofit refrigerant for R-114 in some low-pressure centrifugal chillers. In retrofits of existing centrifugal chillers, systems modifications are often needed and the OEM should be consulted for specific guidance. It is also used in high ambient cooling applications such as overhead cranes.
